Marine Transmissons
At G3 Transmission & Diesel, we service and repair marine transmissions used in inboard boats, wake boats, surf boats, and ski boats.
Most boat transmission issues are not something you want to ignore. Slipping, delayed engagement, harsh shifting, fluid leaks, burnt fluid, or noise under load can quickly turn into a tow back to the ramp.
We help diagnose the problem correctly, repair what failed, and make sure the transmission is ready to handle real use on the water.

Boat Transmissions We Service
We focus on inboard marine transmissions used in wake boats, surf boats, and ski boats.
That includes both direct drive and V drive setups.
Common units we see:
Velvet Drive / BorgWarner
ZF Marine
Hurth
Indmar setups
PCM setups
If it’s bolted behind an inboard engine and transferring power through a straight shaft or V drive, we’ve probably seen it.
We also work with complete driveline setups, not just the transmission. That includes couplers, dampers, coolers, and related components that can cause or contribute to failure.
Not sure what you have? Send us a picture or give us the boat info and we’ll figure it out.

Carry-In & Shipping Options
If you can bring the transmission to us out of the boat, that’s the best route.
Carry-in units let us move faster, keep costs down, and focus directly on the transmission instead of tying up time in removal and reinstall. It’s usually the quickest and most efficient way to get you back on the water.
We work with:
Boat owners pulling their own units
Marinas and repair shops
Mobile mechanics
Not local? You can ship your transmission to us. We’ll inspect it, go through it, and send it back ready to install. If you’re shipping, we’ll give you basic prep steps so it shows up clean and doesn’t get damaged in transit.
Removal & Reinstall Available
We can remove and reinstall transmissions from boats if needed. Just know it adds time and cost compared to a carry-in unit.
If you’re trying to keep things simple and move quickly, pulling it and bringing it to us is the way to go.

How long does a marine transmission rebuild take?
Turnaround depends on parts availability, damage, and workload. Carry-in units are usually faster than full boat drop-offs. 1 week on average.

No. This page is for inboard only transmission and driveline related work, not outboard engine repair.
Do you warranty marine transmission rebuilds?
Warranty depends on the unit, parts availability, use, and the type of build. We will go over that before the job is approved.
